How is private health insurance better than Medicare for consumers?

Medicare's overhead is 4% and the operation doesn't seek to earn a profit. Private insurance overhead is 30% and its first goal is to make a profit for shareholders. Most old people like Medicare. An awful lot of people don't like their private health insurance. What's the problem with expanding Medicare to all Americans? Other than "socialism"
