Is running at a easy 9:30 mile pace for 3 miles for a run okay?

I'm just trying to stay in shape for cross country, we don't start team workouts until August so were on our own for another month. Is this okay? Also i usually (i have a Garmin watch) go faster towards the last half mile and go to 6:30-45 pace.
